romantic comedy. **. pg-13. when a geeky, aspiring writer (bryan cranston) gets into a comic-book convention in the backwoods, he meets a plain but passionate woman (julianne moore) who falls for him. a fairly predictable plot, but cranston and moore get good mileage out of the characters, and the humor feels fresh.
