Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Husta

Coding-factory gateway: planner interview, job ledger, Cursor implementer.

Jobs start inactive. Coding agents run only after you Activate.

Install

From this checkout (Node 22.13+ and corepack pnpm required):

pnpm install
pnpm build
./bin/husta # repo-local entry (source or dist, whichever exists)
./scripts/install.sh # provisions app-owned Node if needed, then `npm install -g @4lbatr0s/husta`

The installer provisions an app-owned Node 22 under ~/.husta/runtime/ when needed and then installs the published husta npm package globally. The prebuilt Bubble Tea TUI arrives as a platform optionalDependencies package (husta-<os>-<arch>), so no Go toolchain is required.

Do not export API keys. Launch the TUI and paste the planner key (and the Cursor key if you use Cloud Agents). They are stored under ~/.husta/credentials/ (mode 600), never in git and never in implementer prompts.

husta / husta tui is a Bubble Tea full-screen TUI (OpenCode-style: panes, ctrl+p palette, ? help).

husta # Bubble Tea TUI
husta onboard # guided first-run setup: planner, implementer, GitHub, verify
husta setup # planner, implementer, paste keys (also scripted for CI)
husta doctor
husta status

husta jobs list
husta jobs activate <id>
husta gateway start # background loop
husta gateway status
husta gateway stop

husta --help lists every command.

Onboarding

Fresh installs should start with the guided flow. It detects what is already on the machine (stored keys, gh auth, local CLIs like opencode), walks through planner → implementer → GitHub step by step with masked key entry, verifies the planner key with a live call before saving it, runs the doctor gate, and hands off to the gateway or a first job. Any step can be skipped; re-runs offer keep / modify / reset.

husta onboard
husta onboard --help

Needs an interactive terminal. For CI, use scripted setup instead:

husta setup --planner deepseek-chat --implementer opencode

If npm's global bin dir is not on your PATH, add it, e.g.:

export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH" # or: npm prefix -g

Home

~/.husta/
  config.json # planner URL/model, implementer — no secrets
  credentials/
planner # pasted in the TUI
cursor # pasted in the TUI (Cursor implementer)
github # PAT if not using gh
    projects/<id>/ # REDIS_URL, DATABASE_URL
runtime/node/ # app-owned Node, if the installer provisioned it
  projects.json
  ledger/

HUSTA_HOME overrides the home directory (use ./.local-home only for local experiments).

Job kinds

| Kind | Repo | | --- | --- | | poc | Husta creates the GitHub repo (factoryCreated) | | feature / bugfix / audits | Pick a registered project. No new repo. |

Deprecate closes this job's PRs. It deletes a GitHub repo only for a factory-created poc, after you type the name. It never deletes a user's existing app.
