Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

App landing page template in plain HTML

A landing for a mobile app or SaaS product whose features read most clearly on a phone screen. The demo sells a captioning app for calls: a photo hero with a sign-up button, two panels where speech becomes caption bubbles, five features beside a CSS phone that adds one step per feature, a giant sample sentence over eight settings with drawn controls, a sideways track of five places, an expert quote and eight reviews, three stacking setup cards, eight questions, a final sign-up band and a support form. Warm paper and espresso, a navy hero, one green accent. No build tooling: a lone index.html from 8B, an AI website builder, animated with GSAP plus ScrollTrigger and smoothed by Lenis, each fetched from a CDN.

Install or copy

npm pack @8bsite/app-landing-page-template
tar -xzf 8bsite-app-landing-page-template-1.0.0.tgz

You get a package/ folder. To skip npm, clone it with npx degit 8bsite/app-landing-page-template my-app-site. A dependency install puts it at node_modules/@8bsite/app-landing-page-template/; take a copy out of there before editing.

Retelling it for your product

Whichever agent you use (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex), its first read should be AGENTS.md; it also says which sections must stay adjacent for the scroll handoffs. Bring what your app does, who it serves, the plan or price, store or sign-up links, and the features the phone should walk through. The rating, reviews, clinician quote and product claims are invented: replace them with yours or remove them. Buttons point at page anchors for now, and the support form validates and shows a status line yet delivers nothing until a form backend is connected.

Use AGENTS.md as the rulebook and rebuild this for my habit tracker app: free tier plus a yearly plan. Put my four main screens on the phone and ask me for reviews instead of writing any.
