Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Construction company website template: builders and renovation firms

For a contractor doing kitchens, bathrooms, lofts, rear extensions and restoration. Visitors scroll through five services with build times and starting prices, a measured survey offer, twelve finished rooms, five materials, the order of work in five stages, a fixed price promise, the crew, reviews, questions and a site-visit form. Black, white and grey on a 12-column grid, with red dimension lines and a wall of grey blocks on the first screen. Nothing to build: a single index.html carries its own CSS and scripts and pulls GSAP, ScrollTrigger and Lenis from a CDN. From 8B, an AI website builder.

Every section explained, with a moving preview: https://8b.com/templates/ashlar/

How to get the files

npm pack @8bsite/construction-company-website-template
tar -xzf 8bsite-construction-company-website-template-1.0.0.tgz

The archive opens into package/. You can also pull it from GitHub with npx degit 8bsite/construction-company-website-template my-firm. A copy installed through npm lives in node_modules/@8bsite/construction-company-website-template/; copy it out before editing.

Adapting the site with an AI coding agent

Whether you use Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, have it begin with AGENTS.md, which lists the classes the animations rely on and every demo figure. Then give it your trades, durations and prices, survey fee, service area, licence, insurance, guarantee and team. The crew, reviews, licence number and project photos are invented or stock, and the agent should ask for real ones, never make them up. The visit form validates its fields and shows a confirmation, but nothing is sent until you connect a form service.

Follow AGENTS.md. We are a four-person bathroom fitter in Leeds. Swap in our prices and photos, drop the loft and extension services, and ask me for anything missing.
