Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

TypeScript SDK for MTN MoMo and Airtel Money mobile-money operations

Readme

@ablea/cashless

TypeScript SDK for mobile-money operations with MTN MoMo and Airtel Money in Africa.

This is a dependency-free, fetch-based SDK that talks directly to the provider APIs.

Install

npm install @ablea/cashless

Usage

import { CashlessClient } from '@ablea/cashless';

const cashless = new CashlessClient({
  momo: {
    apiUser: process.env.MOMO_API_USER,
    apiKey: process.env.MOMO_API_KEY,
    collectionsSubscriptionKey: process.env.MOMO_COLLECTIONS_SUBSCRIPTION_KEY,
    disbursementsSubscriptionKey: process.env.MOMO_DISBURSEMENTS_SUBSCRIPTION_KEY,
    environment: 'sandbox', // or 'production'
  },
  airtel: {
    clientId: process.env.AIRTEL_CLIENT_ID,
    clientSecret: process.env.AIRTEL_CLIENT_SECRET,
    environment: 'sandbox', // or 'production'
    country: 'UG',
    currency: 'UGX',
  },
});

// MTN MoMo collection
await cashless.momo?.collections.requestToPay('ref-123', {
  amount: '1000',
  currency: 'EUR', // MTN sandbox uses EUR. Use UGX for MTN Uganda production.
  externalId: 'ORDER-123',
  payer: { partyIdType: 'MSISDN', partyId: '46733123499' },
});

// Airtel Money USSD push
await cashless.airtel?.collections.ussdPush({
  reference: 'ORDER-123',
  subscriber: { country: 'UG', msisdn: '25677xxxxxxx' },
  transaction: { amount: 5000, id: 'ref-123' },
});

Environments

  • MTN MoMo: sandbox routes collections through https://sandbox.momodeveloper.mtn.com/collection and disbursements through https://sandbox.momodeveloper.mtn.com/disbursement.
  • Airtel Money (Uganda): sandbox resolves to https://openapiuat.airtel.ug; production resolves to https://openapi.airtel.ug.

For other countries/deployments, pass a baseUrl explicitly.

subscriptionKey is still supported as a legacy fallback, but MTN integrations should prefer collectionsSubscriptionKey and disbursementsSubscriptionKey so each product uses the correct key and access token.

For MTN balance and account-holder checks, momo.common remains an alias for collection operations. Use momo.collectionCommon for collections and momo.disbursementCommon for disbursements when you need product-specific keys and balances.

Development

npm install
npm run build
npm test
