Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@adaptive-debounce/nuxt

v0.1.0

Published

Nuxt integration for adaptive-debounce.

Readme

@adaptive-debounce/nuxt

Install adaptive debounce once for a Nuxt application. The module creates one request-safe runtime per Nuxt app, starts typing observation after client mount, and auto-imports the Vue composables.

Install

Requires Nuxt >=4.5.1 <4.6.0 and Vue >=3.5.0 <4.0.0. The packed consumer checks use Nuxt 4.5.1; earlier Nuxt versions are excluded because they lack upstream security fixes.

npm install [email protected] @adaptive-debounce/[email protected] @adaptive-debounce/[email protected]

Configure

export default defineNuxtConfig({
  modules: ['@adaptive-debounce/nuxt'],
  adaptiveDebounce: {
    persistence: true,
    delay: {
      minimumDelayMs: 600,
      maximumDelayMs: 1_800,
    },
  },
})

Observation is enabled by default. Persistence is opt-in and uses same-origin localStorage with a one-second trailing save. Only timing metadata is stored; input values are never read or saved.

Use anywhere

The module auto-imports useAdaptiveDebounceRuntime, useAdaptiveDelay, and useAdaptiveDebouncedFn:

<script setup lang="ts">
const delayMs = useAdaptiveDelay()
const saveDraft = useAdaptiveDebouncedFn(async (draft: Draft) => {
  await api.saveDraft(draft)
})
</script>

Each composable-created callback has an independent timer. The learned delay and persisted profile are shared across client-side route changes. The same runtime is also available as useNuxtApp().$adaptiveDebounce.

Route-component teardown cancels that component's pending callback without flushing it. Call and await the callback's flush() before navigation when the save must finish first. With persistence disabled, the learned profile survives route changes but not a hard reload.

SSR and advanced setup

The universal plugin creates a fresh cold runtime for each Nuxt app or server request. It does not touch document or localStorage during server rendering, and starts only on app:mounted in the browser. It does not use a module-global runtime.

Nuxt configuration stays serializable. For a custom persistence adapter, observation root, or error handler, install @adaptive-debounce/vue directly from a Nuxt plugin instead.
