Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

AdMyChat for VS Code

Earn a share of ad revenue while you code. AdMyChat shows one quiet sponsor card in a side panel and credits your wallet for the time you spend actively working. No surveys, no pop-ups, and it never reads your code.

You keep 75% of the ad revenue your activity earns. Cash out once you reach $15.

Learn more at admychat.com.

Get started

  1. Install AdMyChat from the Marketplace.
  2. Open the AdMyChat panel in the activity bar and click Sign in (or run AdMyChat: Sign In from the command palette). It opens your browser once to link this editor to your account. There are no API keys to copy or paste.
  3. Start coding. Your earnings for the day show in the status bar (for example ◈ $0.0142) and in full on your wallet at admychat.com/wallet.

Each editor you sign in on links itself separately, so signing in on a second machine never signs you out of the first.

How it works

While your editor window is focused and you are actively working, the extension posts one lightweight "still here" signal every few seconds. That is the whole mechanic. Earnings taper over a long day and settle to your wallet a few times an hour.

Your code stays yours

  • Never reads your code. Not your source, prompts, file names, syntax trees, or AI output. None of it is read, stored, or sent.
  • Timing only. The extension notes that activity happened and when. The content of that activity never leaves your machine.
  • Per-editor sign-in. Each install keeps its own credential in VS Code's secret storage, so nothing ends up in a settings.json you might commit.
  • Abuse controls. Rate limits and datacenter-IP screening keep the network honest for everyone.

Commands

| Command | What it does | |---|---| | AdMyChat: Sign In | Link this editor to your account through the browser | | AdMyChat: Pause or Resume Earning | Stop or restart crediting without signing out | | AdMyChat: Show Panel | Open the sponsor panel in the side bar | | AdMyChat: Open Wallet | Open your wallet to track earnings and cash out | | AdMyChat: Disconnect This Editor | Unlink just this editor; your others keep earning |

Privacy and Data Protection

  • Privacy First: AdMyChat only tracks active timing ticks for earnings calculation. We never read, transmit, or store your source code, prompts, syntax trees, or file contents.
  • Data Protection & Disclosures: Read our full privacy disclosure and data retention policy at admychat.com/privacy.
