Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@agent-sh/harness-core

Shared foundation for @agent-sh/harness-* tools — types, errors, permission policies, operation adapters.

Part of the @agent-sh/harness-* monorepo — see the top-level README for architectural context and the full tool surface.

What it is

This is a runtime-only dependency of every other harness tool. You typically don't import it directly — installing any @agent-sh/harness-<tool> package pulls it in.

Install

npm install @agent-sh/harness-core

Requires Node ≥ 20.

Usage

import { toolError, formatToolError, type PermissionPolicy } from "@agent-sh/harness-core";

const err = toolError("NOT_FOUND", "File not found", { meta: { path: "/x" } });
console.log(formatToolError(err)); // "Error [NOT_FOUND]: File not found"

This is a foundation package; see the per-tool packages it supports for concrete contracts.
