Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@ai-agent-lead/llm8

Local rotating proxy for free-tier AI accounts (Gemini, Anthropic, Kiro, etc.). Distributes the upstream-side Go binary via per-platform npm sub-packages and resolves the right one at install time — no postinstall scripts, no download-from-CDN shenanigans.

Install

npm install -g @ai-agent-lead/llm8
# OR
npx @ai-agent-lead/llm8 start

This also installs the matching @ai-agent-lead/llm8-<os>-<arch> sub-package via optionalDependencies. Supported platforms:

| Platform | Sub-package | |--------------|--------------------------------------| | darwin-arm64 | @ai-agent-lead/llm8-darwin-arm64 | | darwin-x64 | @ai-agent-lead/llm8-darwin-x64 | | linux-x64 | @ai-agent-lead/llm8-linux-x64 | | linux-arm64 | @ai-agent-lead/llm8-linux-arm64 | | win32-x64 | @ai-agent-lead/llm8-win32-x64 |

Usage

llm8 --version
llm8 start
llm8 accounts list

Full CLI surface is documented in the daemon's own help (llm8 --help) and in the project's feature doc.

--no-optional users

If you install with --no-optional or --ignore-scripts, the per-platform binary will be missing and llm8 will exit with:

llm8: missing platform binary @ai-agent-lead/llm8-<os>-<arch>.
Reinstall without --no-optional, or run "npm install
@ai-agent-lead/llm8-<os>-<arch>" to install it manually.

This is the documented remediation per ADR-005.

This is the documented remediation per ADR-005.

Architecture

The umbrella package contains only:

  • bin/llm8.js — JS shim that resolves the platform binary and spawns it with stdio inherited.
  • lib/platform.js — resolution table + require.resolve plumbing.
  • lib/error-no-optional.js — remediation message formatter.

The actual Go binary lives in the per-platform sub-package and is exec'd by the shim. See docs/adr/005-npm-distribution.md for the full distribution decision.
