Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server for AIEndpoint registry — lets AI agents search and discover /ai-enabled web services

Readme

@aiendpoint/mcp-server

MCP server for the AIEndpoint registry.

Lets AI agents (Claude, Cursor, etc.) search and discover web services that expose a /ai endpoint — a machine-readable spec describing what the service can do and how to use it.

Tools

| Tool | Description | |------|-------------| | aiendpoint_search_services | Search registered services by keyword, category, or auth type | | aiendpoint_fetch_ai_spec | Fetch the /ai spec from any URL directly | | aiendpoint_validate_service | Check if a service correctly implements the /ai standard |

Quick Start

Claude Desktop

Add to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aiendpoint": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@aiendpoint/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}

pnpm

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aiendpoint": {
      "command": "pnpm",
      "args": ["dlx", "@aiendpoint/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}

bun (fastest startup)

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aiendpoint": {
      "command": "bunx",
      "args": ["@aiendpoint/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}

yarn

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aiendpoint": {
      "command": "yarn",
      "args": ["dlx", "@aiendpoint/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Desktop. You can now ask:

"Find me a free weather API" → Claude calls aiendpoint_search_services "What can stripe.com do?" → Claude calls aiendpoint_fetch_ai_spec

Cursor

Add to .cursor/mcp.json in your project (or ~/.cursor/mcp.json globally):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aiendpoint": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@aiendpoint/mcp-server"]
    }
  }
}

Replace "command" and "args" with the same alternatives shown in the Claude Desktop section above.

Claude Code

# add globally (all projects)
claude mcp add aiendpoint -- npx -y @aiendpoint/mcp-server

# add to current project only
claude mcp add --scope project aiendpoint -- npx -y @aiendpoint/mcp-server
# pnpm
claude mcp add aiendpoint -- pnpm dlx @aiendpoint/mcp-server

# bun
claude mcp add aiendpoint -- bunx @aiendpoint/mcp-server

# yarn
claude mcp add aiendpoint -- yarn dlx @aiendpoint/mcp-server

Global install (skip the download on every run)

npm install -g @aiendpoint/mcp-server
# pnpm
pnpm add -g @aiendpoint/mcp-server
# bun
bun add -g @aiendpoint/mcp-server

Then use aiendpoint-mcp as the command:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aiendpoint": {
      "command": "aiendpoint-mcp"
    }
  }
}

Usage Examples

Once connected, you can ask your AI assistant:

  • "Find payment APIs that don't require auth"
  • "Search for Korean e-commerce services"
  • "What endpoints does news-demo.aiendpoint.dev expose?"
  • "Is github.com's /ai endpoint valid?"
  • "Find developer tools in the registry"

Registry

The registry is at aiendpoint.dev. Register your service's /ai endpoint at aiendpoint.dev/register.
