Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Installs helmd — the AINumbers Helm local-first control-plane daemon — for your platform. postinstall downloads the matching helmd SEA binary from the GitHub release tagged v0.1.0 and verifies its SHA-256 against the value baked into this package from the signed release manifest before it ever runs. A mismatch aborts the install — no source is trusted beyond that pinned digest.

First run

helmd start

helmd serves its own UI — no separate download, no file:// page. On first run it opens your default browser at http://127.0.0.1:4173/, pre-paired with a one-time token in the URL fragment (#token=...). The fragment is stripped from the address bar immediately and never sent to the server. If nothing opens (headless box, no default browser) copy the printed pairing URL yourself. Later starts stay silent — run helmd start --open to force the browser open again.

Offline / no-registry install

Environments that block the npm registry (bank proxies, airgapped hosts) can skip it entirely: download helm-cli-0.1.0.tgz from the same GitHub release and run npm install ./helm-cli-0.1.0.tgz — no registry reachability needed. Verifying without installing

node scripts/verify-release-manifest.mjs /path/to/downloaded/release/dir
