Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Paseo merge celebration 🎉

You shipped it. Enjoy the moment.

A little celebration for a lot of hard work. When your pull request is merged, colorful confetti falls across Paseo, with a recap of what you just shipped.

Colorful confetti falling over a sample Paseo workspace, with a “Work shipped!” recap and a close control, Open workspace and Archive workspace buttons

Staged screenshot: the real celebration UI over a fictional workspace.

A proper send-off for finished work

  • Celebrate automatically. Merge your PR and let the confetti fly.
  • Remember the win. See the PR title and a short recap of linked issues.
  • Keep your flow. Your current screen stays right where it is, ready to use.
  • Enjoy it as long as you like. Click × or press Esc to keep working, Open workspace to jump to the work you shipped, or Archive workspace to put it away. The last pieces drift offscreen.
  • Keep it calm. Reduced motion gives you the recap without the animation.
  • Make it yours. Pick the words, the emoji and the kind of confetti you like.

Keyboard shortcuts: Esc closes the recap, Option/Alt+O opens its workspace, and Option/Alt+A archives it. Shortcuts pause while you edit text. Workspace actions are disabled in previews. Archiving closes the recap immediately; failures appear in a separate error dialog.

Unmerged work stays quiet. Existing merged PRs at plugin startup do not trigger celebrations. Merge detection follows Paseo’s GitHub status refreshes. Disable Paseo’s automatic workspace archival after merge if you want to choose when to archive from the celebration. Missed celebrations wait for your desktop or browser to reconnect, for up to 24 hours. Once a window shows one, it will not replay on reconnect. Pending events are held in memory and clear when the plugin or daemon restarts.

Make it yours

Open Settings → Plugins → Merge celebration, or choose Merge celebration settings in the Command Center.

| Setting | Choices | | --- | --- | | Celebrate merged work | On or off. Preview still works when it’s off. | | Verb | Work shipped, landed, merged, committed or deployed | | Emoji | 🎉, 🚀, ✨, 🥳 or none | | Show linked issues | Include or hide the recap of the issues your PR closes | | Show confetti | Keep the recap and skip the confetti | | Size | Small, medium or large pieces | | Speed | A slow drift, a normal fall or a fast flurry | | Amount | Light, normal or heavy |

Changes apply right away, even to confetti that’s already falling. Press Preview on the settings page to try them. Your choices are saved on the Paseo host, so every window connected to that host gets the same celebration.

Try a little joy

Install the npm package in Paseo:

paseo plugin add npm:@ajma/paseo-merge-celebration

Open the Command Center with ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) and choose Preview merge celebration. No merge needed. Open workspace and Archive workspace are disabled in previews.

Supports Paseo 0.11.2 and later on desktop and in the browser, with GitHub pull requests.
