Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@albertomarturelo/cta-mcp

cta-mcp: a stdio MCP server that lets an AI agent (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, any MCP client) read your own Chilean bank accounts — balances and movements. A thin surface over @albertomarturelo/cta-core.

⚠️ 0.x and unofficial. Not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any bank. Automating access to your own account may breach your bank's terms, and the bank may block your access or your device. Provided "as is", without warranty (MIT). Read-only: it never moves money.

No tool accepts a password: login happens in a browser window where you type your credentials yourself. The login tool returns as soon as the window opens.

Install

npm i -g @albertomarturelo/cta-mcp
npx playwright install chromium
cta-mcp --version

Requires Node ≥ 20. Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "cta": { "command": "cta-mcp" }
  }
}

Tools

bancos, login, logout, cuentas, saldo, movimientos, tarjetas. Every bank-scoped tool takes a required banco, e.g. "bci".

Demo bank

Set CTA_DEMO=1 ("env": { "CTA_DEMO": "1" } in the server entry) to add a fictitious bank, banco: "demo": two accounts, about six weeks of movements and two credit cards, all invented and dated relative to today. Its login opens a local demo page; press «Ingresar». Nothing reaches a bank.

BCI flow

  1. login with banco: "bci" opens the bank's page. Log in there.
  2. Once you reach your bank home, the window closes within seconds: cta takes the read session the bank hands its own web, clicking nothing. The server holds that session in memory, never on disk, for about an hour.
  3. bancos shows sesionHasta. Until then, cuentas, saldo, movimientos and tarjetas read over HTTP, with no browser. After it, log in again.

If the bank blocks a read, the tool returns the bank's message and nothing is retried. See the roadmap.
