Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

A Pi skill that automates GrillMe rounds with an independent Decider

Readme

Pi AutoGrill

npm version

AutoGrill reduces the effort of design grilling without replacing the workflow that makes it useful.

This repository is the Pi-specific distribution: pi-subagents discovers the bundled Decider agent, whose frontmatter configures fresh context and a read-only tool allowlist. The Decider is instructed not to use tools or outside context. The portable skill also ships the Decider instructions as plain Markdown in the alereyleyva/skills repository; this package provides the equivalent Pi agent configuration.

Goal

Use the currently installed GrillMe skill as the sole authority for exploring a design: it owns the design tree, question frontier, recommendations, fact-finding, and completion. AutoGrill changes only who answers each round.

For each GrillMe round, one fresh Decider independently answers all questions using only the goal, relevant settled context, and that round. AutoGrill resolves materially matching answers automatically and batches disagreements or decisions requiring personal judgment for the user. The completed round goes back to GrillMe, which continues until its own completion criteria are met.

The intended result is fewer routine user interruptions while retaining GrillMe's exploration depth and escalating uncertain choices instead of silently deciding them.

Scope

This package contains:

  • The auto-grill skill, which loads the current GrillMe skill at runtime rather than copying its workflow.
  • The auto-grill-decider agent, configured with fresh context and the read-only read tool to avoid the reported rejection of an empty tool list. Its instructions prohibit using tools or outside context.

It does not include or replace GrillMe, add custom TypeScript, retain Decider memory between rounds, or add another judge or decision-making layer.

Requirements

  • Pi with package and skill support.
  • The current grill-me skill installed separately. AutoGrill calls it by its grilling skill name at runtime.
  • pi-subagents, which discovers and launches the packaged Decider.

Install the dependency and this package:

pi install npm:pi-subagents
pi install npm:@alereyleyva/pi-auto-grill

For a local checkout, replace the second command with pi install /path/to/auto-grill. Restart Pi if it was already running.

Use

/skill:auto-grill <idea>

Example:

/skill:auto-grill Design the tournament system for XPadel

Package layout

  • skills/auto-grill/SKILL.md — runtime wrapper and round-resolution instructions.
  • agents/auto-grill-decider.md — isolated Decider role.
  • package.json — Pi skill discovery and pi-subagents agent discovery manifests.

The package has no runtime code or package dependencies. pi declares the skill path; pi-subagents declares the packaged agent path under pi-subagents.agents.

Publish

Before the first npm release, configure the public Git repository in package.json, confirm the scoped npm package name is available, then inspect the exact archive with:

bun publish --dry-run

Publish when the package name, repository metadata, and archive contents are ready:
