Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@alisio/core

v0.4.4

Published

Embeddable provider-agnostic Alisio agent core: tool loop, context compaction, local tools, MCP, plugin host and SQLite session store. Runs on Node >=22.16 and Bun.

Readme

@alisio/core

The embeddable core of Alisio: a provider-agnostic agent you can drive from your own program. No TUI, no CLI — just the tool loop, compaction, MCP and plugin host as a library.

What it is

@alisio/core wires the agent tool loop, structured context compaction, the OpenAI-compatible provider (Chat Completions and Responses), local tools behind explicit permissions, the MCP client, the plugin host (hook timeouts and failure isolation) and a SQLite session store into one createApplication entry point. It runs on Node.js >= 22.16 (node:sqlite with FTS5) and on Bun, and uses only portable Node APIs.

Installation

npm i @alisio/core        # or: pnpm add @alisio/core · bun add @alisio/core

Quick start

import { createApplication } from "@alisio/core";

const app = await createApplication({ config: "./alisio.json", readOnly: true });
try {
  const session = app.store.create(app.workspace, app.provider.id, app.provider.model);
  const { text } = await app.runner.run(session.id, "Summarize this repository");
  console.log(text);
} finally {
  await app.close();
}

What you get

  • Runner: AgentRunner with turn limits, timeouts, token budgets and versioned RunEvent output (schemaVersion: 1).
  • Context compaction: planCompaction, summarize, renderCheckpoint, shouldCompactContext and checkpoint helpers; memory plugins hook in via CompactionHooks.
  • Providers: ProviderRegistry / ActiveProvider for OpenAI-compatible, DeepSeek, OpenCode Console and OpenCode Go; ProviderSettingsStore for non-secret profiles plus a separate credentials store.
  • Local tools: reads by default, --allow-write/--allow-process-style policy, path checks and standard tools (ToolRegistry, registerStandard).
  • MCP: McpConnector, server discovery and tool projection.
  • Plugin host: PluginHost with built-in plugin catalogs, npm install (installPlugin, cliInstall), hook timeouts and failure isolation.
  • Sessions: SQLiteStore with reconciliation and crash recovery.
  • Skills and prompts: Skills, ProjectContext (AGENTS.md), loadPromptTemplates.
  • Trust: resolveTrust / setTrust / listTrust for per-directory project trust.
  • Startup screen: reusable renderStartup sections and the default mascot.

Built-in plugins are opt-in for embedders: pass builtins (the alisio CLI wires @alisio/plugin-memory and @alisio/plugin-subagents).
