Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

React All input fields

Readme

React All Input

Reusable Input component that renders every form control (text, number, textarea, dropdowns, React Select, React Picky, radio/checkbox groups, ranges, search/autocomplete, etc.) from a single configuration object.

Installation

npm install @amrit981/react-all-input
import { InputField } from "@amrit981/react-all-input";

export const Example = () => (
  <InputField
    title="Job title"
    name="jobTitle"
    placeholder="Enter a job title"
    type="select multiple"
    options={[
      { label: "Engineer", value: "eng" },
      { label: "Designer", value: "design" }
    ]}
    onChange={(value) => console.log(value)}
  />
);

Demo app

A full playground lives in demo/, built with Vite + React. Every supported type is showcased: text, number, textarea, select (single/multiple), React Select multiselect, React Picky multiselect, radio group, checkbox group, single checkbox with eye toggle, search/autocomplete, string ranges, and numeric ranges.

cd demo
npm install
npm run dev # open http://localhost:5173

Run npm run build inside demo/ to produce a static bundle (output in demo/dist).

Library scripts

npm run build # builds dist/ (CJS, ESM, and d.ts)

Publishing to npm

Use these steps when you are ready to publish the package for the first time (or release an update):

  1. npm install (root) – ensure dependencies are fresh, then run npm run build so dist/ is up to date.
  2. cd demo && npm install && npm run build (optional) – confirm the example still works.
  3. npm pack – inspect the generated tarball to verify the files that will ship.
  4. npm version <patch|minor|major> – bumps the semver and creates a git tag.
  5. npm publish --access public – publishes @amrit981/react-all-input to npm (make sure npm whoami shows the right user).

If this is the first time publishing under the @amrit981 scope, run npm login and ensure the package name is available before step 5.
