Git Viewer

A fast, read-only web UI for browsing a local git repository — its commit history, the files each commit changed, and per-file diffs, revealed one step at a time as you drill in.

What it does

• Commit graph — the full history with branch and merge rails, short hashes, branch and tag badges, authors, and dates. Uncommitted work shows up as a "Working tree" entry at the top.
• Files changed — click a commit to see the files it touched, each with add/remove counts and a summary.
• Diffs — click a file for its diff. Renames, binary files, and very large diffs are all handled gracefully.

The window starts as a single column and widens to two, then three, as you go from a commit to its files to a single diff — and collapses back the same way. The current view lives in the URL, so it can be refreshed or shared.

It only ever reads your repository — it never runs a command that changes it.

Running it

Git Viewer is built for the another desktop and published as @anotherco/git-viewer. Open it from the LAUNCH sidebar to browse the current workspace, or click a repository's .git folder to view that repo.
