Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

This is a placeholder. It contains no code, no executable, and no install scripts.

You almost certainly want the real tool, which is Anthropic's Desktop Extensions CLI, published on npm as @anthropic-ai/dxt (deprecated upstream and renamed to @anthropic-ai/mcpb):

npm install -g @anthropic-ai/dxt

Why does this package exist?

dxt is the name of Anthropic's Desktop Extensions CLI, published as @anthropic-ai/dxt, but no npm package had ever claimed @anthropic-experimental/dxt. Anyone typing npm install @anthropic-experimental/dxt would previously get a 404.

An unclaimed name that people plausibly type is an opportunity for a name-squatting or install-confusion attack. This package occupies the name so that nobody else can use it for that, and points you at the real tool instead.

It deliberately ships:

  • no bin entry, so it cannot shadow the genuine dxt binary if both are installed
  • no preinstall, postinstall, or any other lifecycle script
  • no dependencies
  • no JavaScript at all — only this README
