Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@anyreplay/cordova

v0.3.0

Published

Session replay for Cordova apps: records the app's web view with @anyreplay/browser, plus the app id, version, lifecycle flushing, durable storage and the app's own styles, fonts and images.

Readme

@anyreplay/cordova

Session replay for Cordova apps — anyreplay.com.

Your app's screens are a web page, so they are recorded as one, by @anyreplay/browser, bundled into this plugin together with the app-shell core it shares with @anyreplay/capacitor. The plugin adds the app id (bundle id / package name, sent as appId), the app version and device model, storage that survives the web view clearing its own, a flush on Cordova's pause event, and assets: 'inline' so the replay shows the app's own styles, fonts and images.

cordova-android 10+ and cordova-ios 6+.

Preview. This plugin is on npm, but the AnyReplay setup page does not offer it until it has been tested on devices. Copy your project key from the setup page and follow the steps below.

Install

cordova plugin add @anyreplay/cordova

Start recording

The plugin installs a global AnyReplay. Call init once; it waits for deviceready by itself.

document.addEventListener('deviceready', () => {
  AnyReplay.init({
    projectKey: 'ar_pk_live_…',
    // Everything @anyreplay/browser accepts, for example:
    // maskAllInputs: false, // form fields are masked by default; false records what people type
    // requireConsent: true,
  });
});
AnyReplay.consent(true);                       // with requireConsent: true
AnyReplay.identify({ userId: 'u_1842' });
AnyReplay.track('checkout_started', { cart: 3 });
AnyReplay.flush();
AnyReplay.stop();

TypeScript: add @anyreplay/cordova to compilerOptions.types (or /// <reference types="@anyreplay/cordova" />) for the global's types.

Allowed apps

A Cordova app has no web origin a project can list — iOS sends app://localhost, Android https://localhost — so add the app's bundle id / package name under the project's Allowed apps if the project restricts where it records from.

Native code

Two small classes, no permissions, no network access of their own:

| | iOS (native/ios/CDVAnyReplay.m) | Android (native/android/…/AnyReplay.java) | |---|---|---| | App id | bundleIdentifier | getPackageName() | | Version | CFBundleShortVersionString | versionName | | Device | utsname.machine | Build.MANUFACTURER + Build.MODEL | | Storage | NSUserDefaults, key anyreplay.state | SharedPreferences anyreplay |

Pause and resume come from Cordova's own document events.

Limits

The same as the Capacitor plugin's: images up to 3 MB (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP), fonts up to 160 KB, SVGs up to 48 KB, 1 MB of inline files per page; the device-file bridge (/__cdvfile_…) is never read; unsent events are kept in memory while offline. Unlike Capacitor's, the iOS side does not hold a background task during the pause flush, so the very last seconds before a suspend can be lost.
