Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@anyreplay/tauri

v0.3.0

Session replay for Tauri v2 apps: records the window with the AnyReplay browser SDK, reports the app's identifier and version, and flushes when the window loses focus.

Readme

@anyreplay/tauri

Session replay for Tauri v2 apps. The window is recorded with @anyreplay/browser — the same masking, transport and rrweb setup as on the web — and reported as a Tauri session with your app's identifier and version. JavaScript only: no Rust plugin.

Preview. This package is on npm, but the AnyReplay setup page does not offer it until it has been tested on devices. Copy your project key from the setup page and follow the steps below.

npm install @anyreplay/tauri @tauri-apps/api
// your frontend's entry point
import { init } from '@anyreplay/tauri';
const replay = init({ projectKey: 'ar_pk_live_…' });
replay.track('note_opened');

init takes every option of @anyreplay/browser, plus:

| Option | Default | | |---|---|---| | appId | identifier from tauri.conf.json | Read with getIdentifier() (Tauri 2.4+). | | appVersion | getVersion() | | | flushOnBlur | true | Send what was recorded when the window loses focus. | | flushOnClose | false | Send it before the window closes. Needs core:window:allow-destroy. |

It returns at once; recording starts when the app info arrives, and calls made before that are queued.

Capabilities

core:default covers what the SDK reads (core:app:default for the identifier, name and version; core:event:default for the focus event). With flushOnClose: true, add core:window:allow-destroy to the window's capability: listening for the close request means the window is closed from JavaScript afterwards, and without that permission it would not close.

Content Security Policy

Tauri injects a CSP when app.security.csp is set. Allow the ingest host:

{
  "app": {
    "security": {
      "csp": "default-src 'self'; connect-src 'self' ipc: http://ipc.localhost https://in.anyreplay.com"
    }
  }
}

Windows and sessions

Each window is its own session. The visitor id lives in localStorage, which Tauri keeps across launches. The page is served from tauri://localhost (macOS, Linux) or http://tauri.localhost (Windows); neither is a website, so a project that lists allowed apps admits it by its identifier.
