Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Step 1: Install CDEV globally

For the best performance, CDEV uses Python scripts. Don't worry - setup is simple:

  1. Install Python 3.11+ (you probably already have it)
  2. Install UV - a fast Python package manager:

Why UV? It's 10-100x faster than pip and handles dependencies automatically - no virtual environments needed!

  1. Run npx @aojdevstudio/cdev in your project
  2. Let CDEV analyze your project structure automatically
  3. Choose between simple or advanced protocol generation

🎯 Essential First Step: Initialize CDEV

IMPORTANT: Before using any workflows, you MUST run init-protocol so Claude understands your project:

💡 Why not use Anthropic's /init? While Claude's built-in /init provides basic setup, CDEV's /init-protocol is specifically designed for production development.
