Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Form builder plugin for AphexCMS — editor-composed forms, stored submissions, and email notifications

Readme

@aphexcms/plugin-forms

Editor-composed forms for AphexCMS — contact forms, signups, surveys — built in the admin rather than in code, with submissions stored as documents.

📚 Documentation: docs.getaphex.com/forms

Install

pnpm add @aphexcms/plugin-forms
import { formsPlugin } from '@aphexcms/plugin-forms';

export const plugins = [
	formsPlugin({
		// Address notification emails come from. Falls back to APHEX_EMAIL_FROM.
		from: 'Acme <[email protected]>'
	})
];

The plugin is self-contained: it registers its own schemas, its submission endpoint, its admin tool, and its notification consumer. Nothing else in aphex.config.ts needs to know it exists.

After adding it, regenerate types with the plugins path as the third argument, or the form and formSubmission collections stay untyped:

aphex generate:types ./src/lib/schemaTypes/index.ts ./src/lib/generated-types.ts ./src/lib/plugins.ts

What you get

  • A form builder in the admin — fields, labels, options, required flags, and confirmation behaviour, all editable by a non-developer.
  • Stored submissions as ordinary documents, so they're searchable, exportable, and subject to the same access control as everything else.
  • Validation derived from the form definition and enforced server-side, not just in the browser.
  • Spam handling — a honeypot field plus rate limiting on the submission endpoint.
  • Email notifications via an event consumer, so a failed send retries with backoff instead of vanishing.

Submissions carry personal data

They usually contain names and email addresses, so the default access rule on formSubmission is deliberately stricter than on ordinary content. Widen it knowingly, and check it before exposing submissions through the HTTP or GraphQL APIs.

Multi-tenancy

The endpoint derives the organization from the globally unique published form ID and never accepts an organization ID from the visitor. The submission and its notification event then commit in one transaction within that exact tenant.
