Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@arnilo/prism-agent-sdk

v0.1.0

Published

Assembly-only agent SDK: one defineAgent(config) call wires Prism's tool planes, skills, instructions, MCP bridges, hooks, and session stores into a runnable agentic loop — every plane optional and replaceable.

Readme

@arnilo/prism-agent-sdk

Systematically assemble a configurable agentic runtime from Prism seams.

The SDK packages tool planes, skills discovery, instructions/AGENTS.md, MCP client bridges, hooks, and session stores into a coherent runtime agent and session factory. Every capability plane is optional and replaceable — disabling every plane reduces to the bare, unopinionated Prism loop.

bun add @arnilo/prism @arnilo/prism-agent-sdk

Quick Start

import { createMockProvider, providerDone, providerTextDelta } from "@arnilo/prism";
import { codingPreset, defineAgent, mergeAgentConfig } from "@arnilo/prism-agent-sdk";

// Define an agent with the coding preset (canonical file, search, and execution tools)
const app = await defineAgent(
  mergeAgentConfig(codingPreset({ cwd: process.cwd() }), {
    model: { provider: "anthropic", model: "claude-3-7-sonnet" },
    provider: myProvider,
    instructions: "You are an expert software engineer.",
  }),
);

// Create a session and run a prompt
const session = app.createSession();
const result = await session.run("Review the repository structure");

// Clean up resources (closes all connected MCP server bridges)
await app.dispose();

Features

  • Tool Planes: Resolve tool lists via declarative planes, exclude, replace, and add pipeline with guaranteed deterministic ordering.
  • Skills Discovery: Discovers skills from .agents/skills with fail-closed path-trust checks.
  • Instructions Plane: Auto-loads AGENTS.md and custom system prompt layers.
  • MCP Client Bridges: Eagerly connects STDIO and SSE/HTTP MCP servers with fail-closed allow-rule validation and disposal tracking.
  • Hooks Integration: Compiles declarative hooks.json onto middleware, guardrail, injector, and stop-hook seams.
  • Presets: Ready-to-use configurations (codingPreset, barePreset) that merge cleanly with host overrides.
  • JSON Configuration: Parse and validate configuration objects or JSON files with comprehensive key-path validation.
  • Host Commands: Register host-only commands (commands) distinct from model-visible tools, with fail-closed duplicate rejection.
