Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@assemblyline-agents/cli

The Assembly Line command-line interface (the assembly-line binary).

It provides the developer workflow around the framework: project initialization, local development, compiling and deploying agents to configured deploy providers, adding connection and channel plugins, installing Codex and Claude Code authoring skills, reading version-matched documentation, managing auth and channels, inspecting checkpoints, and running evals. It builds on @assemblyline-agents/compiler, @assemblyline-agents/runtime, and the deploy plugins such as @assemblyline-agents/docker, @assemblyline-agents/fly, @assemblyline-agents/railway, and @assemblyline-agents/vps. Most users get it via the umbrella @assemblyline-agents/sdk package.

Install

npm install @assemblyline-agents/cli

Coding Agents And Documentation

Give Codex or Claude Code this one line to prepare a repository without creating an agent:

Run `npx @assemblyline-agents/sdk@latest setup` in this repository. Set up Assembly Line only; do not create an agent.

The setup command pins the SDK locally, installs both coding-agent integrations, verifies version-matched docs, and stops. The lower-level commands remain available for explicit management:

assembly-line authoring install all .
assembly-line docs search "approval gated tool"
assembly-line docs read agent-stack/tools#conventions
assembly-line validate ./agent --json

The installed docs match the CLI version. assembly-line docs mcp exposes the same corpus through a read-only stdio MCP server. See the Coding Agents guide.

assembly-line init <agentRoot> installs the authoring guidance inside a new agent folder, but setup never invokes it. To make Codex recognize Assembly Line outside a prepared repository, install the latest routing skill globally:

npx skills add jasonbadeaux/assembly-line --skill assembly-line-authoring -g -y

Part of Assembly Line

This package is part of Assembly Line, a vendor-neutral, filesystem-first framework for durable AI agents. See the developer documentation in docs/developers/ for setup, agent authoring, and deployment guides.
