@assemblyline-agents/pi
The canonical Pi agent loop for Assembly Line, packaged behind the framework's internal AgentHarness runtime contract.
It adapts the Pi agent engine (@earendil-works/pi-agent-core / @earendil-works/pi-ai) to Assembly Line's harness interface: provider-owned model resolution, build-frozen capability metadata, tool descriptors, continuations, media inputs, and usage accounting. Every request carries an explicit 128,000-token maximum output budget, reduced when the caller or model declares a lower limit. OpenRouter models resolve through its models API, with Pi's bundled catalog used only when discovery is offline. OpenRouter calls retain the provider generation ID and reconcile native input/output/cache/reasoning tokens plus the charged credit receipt; local catalog-price calculations are discarded rather than reported as spend. The Assembly Line runtime uses this harness to drive agent turns; it is included automatically when you install the umbrella @assemblyline-agents/sdk package.
OpenRouter reasoning supports minimal, low, medium, high, xhigh, and
max. Pi sends the selected value unchanged in reasoning.effort instead of
clamping it against model metadata; OpenRouter owns model compatibility. The
Assembly Line off level is sent as OpenRouter's none value.
