Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Atzentis Storage React — hooks and components for api.atzentis.cloud

Readme

@atzentis/storage-react

React provider, hooks, and headless components for api.atzentis.cloud. Built on top of @atzentis/storage-sdk.

Installation

pnpm add @atzentis/storage-react @atzentis/storage-sdk

Peer dependencies (provided by your app):

pnpm add react react-dom @tanstack/react-query

Provider

Wrap your tree once:

import { StorageProvider } from "@atzentis/storage-react";

<StorageProvider apiKey={process.env.NEXT_PUBLIC_KEY!} tenantId="t_1">
  <App />
</StorageProvider>;

The provider:

  • Constructs a single StorageClient per mount (useState initializer — SSR safe).
  • Validates config synchronously; misconfigured props throw StorageConfigError and propagate to the nearest error boundary.
  • Aborts in-flight requests on unmount.

useStorageClient() returns the typed client; calling it outside a provider throws.

Hooks

| Hook | Purpose | |---|---| | useUpload | Single-file upload with progress, drag-drop handlers, abort on unmount | | useFiles | Paginated file list with refetch + loadMore + filter-driven refetch | | useFolders | Folder tree + create / move / delete with optimistic updates | | useSearch | Debounced search with LRU cache (20 entries), hybrid or fulltext mode | | useAnnotations | List + CRUD + reply with optimistic updates | | useProcessing | runOcr / runEmbedding / runThumbnail — every job auto-polls; abort() cancels | | useUsage | Quota + current usage with optional auto-refresh (clamped ≥ 5s) |

Headless components

Each component wraps the matching hook and exposes a children-as-function render prop for full custom UI:

| Component | What it does | |---|---| | <FileUploader> | Drag-drop zone with accept / maxSize validation | | <FileBrowser> | Grid/list view, sort, multi-select (meta + shift), infinite scroll | | <FolderTree> | Expand/collapse, keyboard nav, move() with self-loop guard | | <PdfAnnotator> | Pointer-driven highlight/comment/underline tools over consumer's pdfRenderer | | <SearchBar> | Debounced combobox with autocomplete dropdown (Arrow keys, Enter, Escape) |

Example with custom rendering:

<FileBrowser>
  {(state) =>
    state.files.map((file) => (
      <button key={file.id} onClick={() => state.toggleSelection(file.id)}>
        {file.filename}
      </button>
    ))
  }
</FileBrowser>

SSR

The provider is marked 'use client' and constructs the client synchronously, so it renders cleanly under Next.js App Router and Remix. Hooks return the same instance across re-renders and concurrent callers.
