Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v3.0.1

Optional asynchronously loaded Rapier physical-simulation adapter for Aura3D.

Readme

@aura3d/physics-rapier

Optional physical simulation for Aura3D, backed by exact @dimforge/[email protected]. The package is asynchronous and optional. The compat build is selected because it is portable across the supported bundlers without requiring each application to configure a raw-WASM loader; its larger lazy payload is disclosed by the retained bundle report.

It is deliberately absent from core, product, and authored-unit arcade bundles. Install and initialize it only for physical rigid bodies, joints, queries, character collision, or raycast vehicles:

import { createRapierPhysics } from "@aura3d/physics-rapier";

const physics = await createRapierPhysics({ gravity: [0, -9.81, 0] });
const floor = physics.createBody({ type: "fixed", shape: { kind: "box", halfExtents: [10, 0.5, 10] } });
const ball = physics.createBody({ position: [0, 4, 0], shape: { kind: "sphere", radius: 0.5 } });
physics.step(1 / 60);
physics.dispose();

This is physical simulation. game.racing and the default authored-unit arcade helpers remain separate and do not claim physical tyre, mass, or force semantics.

Public API

  • createRapierPhysics(options?) lazily initializes Rapier and returns the sole Aura3D-owned physical-world adapter.
  • RapierPhysics owns rigid bodies, colliders, stepping, ray queries, fixed joints, native character controllers, native vehicle controllers, and final disposal.
  • RapierBody exposes explicit transform, velocity, impulse, and removal operations without hiding Rapier's authored-unit physical semantics.
  • rawModule and rawWorld are documented escape hatches for unsupported Rapier features; no private import is required.

Verification

Run pnpm exec vitest run tests/unit/physics-rapier for adapter and dependency- boundary coverage. Run pnpm exec playwright test tests/browser/optional-rapier-physics.spec.ts for cold/cached initialization, browser queries/controllers, repeated disposal, and console-error evidence.
