Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Resend HTTP mail driver for Avelon.

Readme

@avelonjs/resend

@avelonjs/resend is the Resend mail driver for Avelon. It sends transport-neutral MailMessage values over HTTP and maps malformed recipients to Invalid. Reach for this package when you want transactional mail without importing the Resend SDK in application code.

Installation

bun add @avelonjs/resend
export RESEND_API_KEY=re_your_key
export [email protected]

Basic Usage

import { createResendMail } from '@avelonjs/resend'

const mail = createResendMail()

await mail.send({
  to: '[email protected]',
  subject: 'Welcome',
  text: 'Your account is ready.',
  html: '<p>Your account is ready.</p>',
})

Capabilities

| Capability | Value | Notes | | ----------- | ------ | --------------------------------------------------------- | | templates | true | sendTemplate() posts a hosted template id and variables |

Hosted Templates

import { createResendMail } from '@avelonjs/resend'

const mail = createResendMail()
await mail.sendTemplate('welcome-message', ['[email protected]'], { actorName: 'Morgan' })

Method Reference

| Method | Signature | Description | | ------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- | | createResendMail | (options?: ResendMailOptions) => ResendMail | Constructs a Resend HTTP mail driver. | | resendMailCapabilities | { templates: true } | Exact capability declaration for the Resend driver. | | ResendMailOptions | interface | API key, endpoint, instance, and default sender. | | ResendMail.send | (message: MailMessage) => Promise<MailReceipt> | Sends one transactional message. | | ResendMail.sendTemplate | (template: string, to: string \| readonly string[], variables: Readonly<Record<string, unknown>>) => Promise<MailReceipt> | Sends a hosted template. | | ResendMail.raw | () => { endpoint: string } | Returns the API root at the vendor boundary. | | ResendMail.sent | readonly MailMessage[] | Copies of messages this driver accepted. | | ResendMail.reset | () => void | Clears recorded messages between tests. | | LocalResendServer.start | () => Promise<string> | Starts a Resend-shaped HTTP fixture. | | LocalResendServer.reset | () => void | Clears accepted fixture messages. | | LocalResendServer.stop | () => Promise<void> | Stops the fixture listener. | | LocalResendServer.url | string | Base API URL after start(). | | LocalResendServer.sent | readonly MailMessage[] | Messages the fixture accepted, in send order. |

Testing

Run the shared mail conformance suite against LocalResendServer when RESEND_API_KEY is absent. Live Resend verification requires a real API key and is fail-closed in this environment.

import { mailSuite } from '@avelonjs/conformance/suites'
import { createResendMail, LocalResendServer } from '@avelonjs/resend'

const server = new LocalResendServer()
const endpoint = await server.start()

mailSuite({
  name: 'resend local fixture',
  create: () => createResendMail({ endpoint, defaultFrom: '[email protected]' }),
})
