Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Universal React SDK for sBTC and Stacks — works on React Native / Expo and React (web) from a single install.

@baoku26/sbtc-sdk

Universal React SDK for sBTC and Stacks. One install, one API — works on React Native / Expo and React (web). Platform differences (secure storage, biometric auth, wallet connection) are handled by a pluggable adapter system, so your hooks stay platform-agnostic.

npm install @baoku26/sbtc-sdk

Features

  • One API, both platforms — the same hooks run on native and web; the SDK auto-detects the platform and wires the right adapter.
  • No web bundler config — the web build contains no expo-* / react-native references, so there's nothing to alias.
  • Native-ready — ships polyfills and a Metro config for React Native (Hermes); keys live in the device secure enclave.
  • Self-custodial wallet — generate / restore / lock / export, biometric- or WebAuthn-gated.
  • sBTC bridge — deposit (BTC → sBTC) and withdraw (sBTC → BTC) with Emily status polling.
  • Contracts & balances — read-only calls, contract calls, sBTC / STX balances, nonce.
  • Typed & tree-shakeable — strict TypeScript, explicit hook return types, per-platform builds.

Quick start

import { SbtcProvider, useStacksWallet } from '@baoku26/sbtc-sdk';

function App() {
  return (
    <SbtcProvider network="testnet">
      <Wallet />
    </SbtcProvider>
  );
}

function Wallet() {
  const { address, btcAddress, generateWallet, error } = useStacksWallet();
  if (address) return <p>{address} · {btcAddress}</p>;
  return (
    <>
      <button onClick={generateWallet}>Generate wallet</button>
      {error && <p>{error.code}: {error.message}</p>}
    </>
  );
}

React Native: two setup steps

  1. Import the polyfills as the first line of your entry file:
    import '@baoku26/sbtc-sdk/polyfills'; // before anything that touches Buffer / crypto
  2. Alias Node's stream in metro.config.js (a ready-to-copy file ships at @baoku26/sbtc-sdk/templates/metro.config.js).

On web there's no extra setup.

Hooks

| Hook | Purpose | | --- | --- | | useStacksWallet | Self-custodial HD wallet (generate / restore / lock / export / clear) | | useSbtcDeposit | BTC → sBTC | | useSbtcWithdraw | sBTC → BTC | | useSbtcBalance / useStxBalance | Live balances | | useStacksContract / useNonce | Read-only queries, contract calls, nonce |

Platforms

| Platform | Storage | Auth | Wallet connect | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | React Native / Expo | expo-secure-store | expo-local-authentication | Leather / Xverse deep links | | React (web) | localStorage + AES-GCM | WebAuthn | @stacks/connect | | SSR | no-op | no-op | no-op |
