Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@blockialabs/ssi-revocation

v2.0.8

Published

A library for managing revocation of verifiable credentials in decentralized identity systems.

Readme

SSI Revocation

The ssi-revocation package provides functionality for managing the revocation of verifiable credentials in Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) systems. It implements the W3C Bitstring Status List specification for efficient credential status checking.

Installation

Install the package via NPM:

npm install @blockialabs/ssi-revocation

Key Components

Core Classes

  • RevocationCore: Main implementation for credential revocation operations

Interfaces

  • IRevocationManager: Interface for revocation management
  • RevokeCredentialRequest: Request structure for revocation operations
  • BitstringStatusListEntry: Status list entry following W3C specification

Types

  • RevocationRecord: Data structure for storing revocation information
  • StatusPurpose: Enum for status purposes (revocation, suspension, etc.)

Basic Usage

1. Setup Revocation Manager

Initialize the revocation core with storage.

import { RevocationCore } from '@blockialabs/ssi-revocation';
import { MemoryStorage } from '@blockialabs/ssi-storage';

// Setup storage for revocation records
const storage = new MemoryStorage();

// Create revocation manager
const revocationManager = new RevocationCore(storage);

2. Revoke a Credential

Revoke a credential by providing the credential ID and revoker DID.

const revokeRequest = {
  credentialId: 'credential-123',
  revokerDID: 'did:example:issuer123',
  reason: 'Credential compromised',
};

await revocationManager.revokeCredential(revokeRequest);

3. Check Credential Status

Check if a credential has been revoked.

const status = await revocationManager.getStatusList('credential-123');

if (status === 'revocation') {
  console.log('Credential has been revoked');
} else {
  console.log('Credential is valid');
}

Integration with Issuer SDK

Using with Credential Issuer

The revocation manager integrates seamlessly with the issuer SDK:

import { CredentialIssuer } from '@blockialabs/ssi-issuer-sdk';
import { RevocationCore } from '@blockialabs/ssi-revocation';

// Setup revocation manager
const revocationManager = new RevocationCore(storage);

// Include in issuer options
const issuer = new CredentialIssuer(config, {
  revocationManager,
  // ... other options
});

Security Features

Authorization Checks

The package enforces that only the original issuer can revoke a credential:

// This will throw an error if revokerDID doesn't match the original issuer
await revocationManager.revokeCredential({
  credentialId: 'credential-123',
  revokerDID: 'did:example:unauthorized', // Must match original issuer
});

Status Validation

Prevents double revocation and validates credential existence:

// Throws error if credential doesn't exist
await revocationManager.getStatusList('non-existent-id');

// Throws error if already revoked
await revocationManager.revokeCredential({
  credentialId: 'already-revoked-credential',
  revokerDID: 'did:example:issuer123',
});

Building

Run nx build ssi-revocation to build the library.

Running unit tests

Run nx test ssi-revocation to execute the unit tests via Jest.

Running lint

Run nx lint ssi-revocation to check if there are lint errors.
