Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v1.0.0

The unofficial HLTV Node.js API

Readme

IMPORTANT
This project is a fork of gigobyte/HLTV, originally created by gigobyte. The original package is no longer maintained. This fork uses Playwright with stealth plugin instead of got-scraping to bypass Cloudflare bot protection. Only a subset of the original API is currently exposed. These are the endpoints that were required for my use case, but I'm open to adding more endpoints if there is interest or a need for them.

Table of contents

Installation

npm install @bogdanpet/hltv

WARNING
Abusing this library will likely result in an IP ban from HLTV due to Cloudflare bot protection. Use with caution and limit the rate of your requests.

Usage

// ESM
import HLTV from '@bogdanpet/hltv'

// CommonJS
const { HLTV } = require('@bogdanpet/hltv')

Custom configuration

You can create a custom instance if you want to provide your own page loader:

const myHLTV = HLTV.createInstance({
  loadPage: async (url) => {
    // your custom fetch logic
  }
})

By default, the library uses Playwright (Chromium + stealth plugin) to load pages and bypass Cloudflare protection. It retries up to 3 times with exponential backoff.

API

getEvent

Parses info from the hltv.org/events/* page. (1 request)

| Option | Type | Description | | ------ | ------ | ------------ | | id | number | The event ID |

const event = await HLTV.getEvent({ id: 7033 })

Returns:

{
  id: number
  name: string
  logo: string
  dateStart?: number  // unix timestamp
  dateEnd?: number    // unix timestamp
}

getMatches

Parses all upcoming and live matches for a given event from hltv.org/events/:id/matches. (1 request)

| Option | Type | Description | | ------- | ------ | ------------ | | eventId | number | The event ID |

const matches = await HLTV.getMatches(7033)

Returns an array of:

{
  id: number
  date?: number // unix timestamp, undefined for live matches
  team1?: {
    id?: number
    name: string
    logo?: string
  }
  team2?: {
    id?: number
    name: string
    logo?: string
  }
  format?: string     // e.g. "Bo3"
  event?: {
    id: number
  }
  live: boolean
}

getResults

Parses match results for a given event from hltv.org/results?event=:id. (1 request per page)

| Option | Type | Description | | ------- | ------ | ------------ | | eventId | number | The event ID |

const results = await HLTV.getResults(7033)

Returns an array of:

{
  id: number
  result: {
    team1: number // maps won
    team2: number // maps won
  }
}

Credits

Original package by gigobyte. This fork adds Playwright-based scraping to work around Cloudflare restrictions that broke the original implementation.
