Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Model Context Protocol server for Bora Pesa. Gives AI agents searchable docs, provider registry data, and ready-to-run integration examples.

Readme

@borapesa/mcp

Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Bora Pesa, the unified open-source payments SDK for Tanzania.

Point your AI coding agent at this server and it can search the full Bora Pesa documentation, compare payment providers, inspect config fields, and pull copy-paste-ready integration examples while it writes your payment code.

What the agent gets

| Tool | What it does | | ---------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | search_docs | Keyword search across all guides and API reference pages | | get_doc | Read any docs page as markdown | | list_docs | Browse every available page | | list_providers | Compare Selcom, AzamPay, ClickPesa, Snippe, and the Bogus test provider | | get_provider | Full config fields, capabilities, and webhook notes for one provider | | get_example | Runnable TypeScript for quickstart, webhooks, events, disbursement, and more |

Every docs page is also exposed as an MCP resource (borapesa://docs/<path>).

The docs snapshot is bundled into the package at build time, so the server works offline and stays versioned with each release.

Setup

Claude Code

claude mcp add borapesa -- npx -y @borapesa/mcp

Or add to your project's .mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "borapesa": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@borapesa/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Cursor

Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in your project):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "borapesa": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@borapesa/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

Add to .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "borapesa": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@borapesa/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Windsurf

Add to ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "borapesa": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@borapesa/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Other ways agents can read the docs

  • https://borapesa.dev/llms.txt: index of every page, following the llms.txt convention
  • https://borapesa.dev/llms-full.txt: the entire documentation in one file
  • https://borapesa.dev/llms/<path>/index.md: any single page as markdown

Development

pnpm --filter @borapesa/mcp build # bundle server + docs snapshot into dist/
pnpm --filter @borapesa/mcp test # vitest
node packages/mcp/dist/bin.js # run the server on stdio
