Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@bpdm/scheduler-core

v0.1.0

Published

Framework-agnostic core for the bpdm Scheduler — date math, an overlap layout engine, a data-source contract, and state. Zero runtime dependencies.

Readme

@bpdm/scheduler-core

The framework-agnostic engine behind the bpdm Scheduler — date/time math, event layout, a data-source abstraction, and a state store, with zero UI and zero framework dependencies. Build any calendar/scheduler UI on top of it, or use the pieces on their own.

npm version license

The headless core of the bpdm design system's scheduler. The React binding @bpdm/scheduler renders on top of it; future framework bindings reuse the same engine. See the monorepo overview.

Features

  • Framework-agnostic — pure TypeScript, no React and no DOM. Runs in any framework, a worker, or on the server.
  • Event layout — overlap packing (packEvents, layoutDay) that positions colliding events into side-by-side columns.
  • Time utilities — day/week/month math (startOfWeek, startOfMonth, endOfMonth, eachDayOfInterval, …) with a configurable week start.
  • Data-source abstraction — an InMemoryDataSource plus a DataSource interface, so a UI can switch from client data to fetching a visible range from a server without changing.
  • State store — createSchedulerStore holds the current view, date and selection; subscribe and render.
  • Typed & tested — every export is TypeScript-first, covered by unit tests.

Install

npm install @bpdm/scheduler-core

Usage

import { createSchedulerStore, InMemoryDataSource, type CalendarEvent } from "@bpdm/scheduler-core";

const events: CalendarEvent[] = [
  { id: "1", title: "Standup", start: new Date("2026-01-05T09:00"), end: new Date("2026-01-05T09:30") },
];

// A data source the UI reads from (swap for a server-backed DataSource later):
const source = new InMemoryDataSource(events);

// Holds the current view, date and selection — subscribe and render:
const store = createSchedulerStore();

Most apps use the ready-made React component in @bpdm/scheduler rather than wiring the core by hand.
