Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@breakflow/playwright

Headless Chromium PDF adapter with BreakFlow intelligent pagination injection and diagnostics.

NPM Version Live Demo License: MIT

🚀 Try the Live Interactive Demo (Angular 22 + Signals + client-side jsPDF showcase)

Overview

@breakflow/playwright seamlessly combines BreakFlow's intelligent pagination engine with Headless Chromium to produce print-perfect vector PDF documents on the server.

Instead of letting Chromium cut through text lines, headings, or table rows with blunt CSS printing, @breakflow/playwright measures and restructures your document before calling page.pdf().

Key Features

  • High-Fidelity Vector Output: Generates crisp vector text, selectable fonts, clickable URLs, and embedded metadata.
  • Server & Backend Ready: Works in Node.js backend services, Express, NestJS, Docker containers, AWS Lambda, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Simple API: Provide a URL or local HTML file selector and receive a PDF buffer or write directly to disk.
  • Diagnostics Included: Returns detailed analysis data alongside the PDF buffer detailing fixes applied, page budgets, and warnings.

Installation

npm install -D @breakflow/playwright playwright

Or using pnpm / yarn:

pnpm add -D @breakflow/playwright playwright
# or
yarn add -D @breakflow/playwright playwright

Quick Start

import { generatePdf } from '@breakflow/playwright';

// Generate a high-fidelity PDF from an existing web page
const { pdfBuffer, result } = await generatePdf({
  url: 'http://localhost:3000/invoices/INV-2026-001',
  selector: '#invoice',
  output: './invoice.pdf',
  page: {
    format: 'A4',
    margin: '15mm'
  },
  debug: false
});

console.log(`Generated ${result.pageCount} page(s) with ${result.fixes.length} pagination fixes applied.`);

Advanced Usage with an Existing Playwright Page

import { chromium } from 'playwright';
import { paginatePage } from '@breakflow/playwright';

const browser = await chromium.launch();
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('http://localhost:3000/report');

// Injects BreakFlow runtime, analyzes layout, and paginates the DOM
const result = await paginatePage(page, {
  selector: '#report-container',
  page: { format: 'A4', margin: '20mm' }
});

// Render final PDF using Chromium's native vector engine
const pdfBuffer = await page.pdf({
  format: 'A4',
  printBackground: true,
  margin: { top: 0, bottom: 0, left: 0, right: 0 }
});

await browser.close();
