Offline licence verification for BroadPaper. Public keys only — nothing here can sign a licence.

Part of BroadPaper — an embeddable visual report designer and PDF renderer. Your users design the report in your application; BroadPaper owns the layout, the branding, the pagination and the output.

Install

npm install @broadpaper/license

A BroadPaper licence is an Ed25519-signed certificate, not an API key. This package verifies one against a public key compiled into it, locally, with no network call of any kind — not on render, not at start-up, not ever. A licence that is valid on a laptop with no route to the internet is valid.

That also means the licence is not a secret. It says what was bought and until when, editing it invalidates the signature, and it is safe in a browser bundle, a container image or a repository.

configure is process-wide and idempotent, and is re-exported from the backends, so you can import it from whichever one you already depend on.

Licensing

BroadPaper is free to evaluate, with no trial clock and nothing behind a feature gate. Install it, use every feature and evaluate it against your real data for as long as you like. Production use needs a licence.

In the software, the only difference without a licence is that generated PDFs carry an evaluation mark, and a licence removes it. Contractually, the licence is also what permits production use. No seats, no activation, no machine binding, no telemetry, and no call home at any point.
