Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@bugsee/vue

Vue 3 adapter for the Bugsee SDK: reports errors from Vue's error handler and names navigations after the matched vue-router route, for apps running in the browser.

Part of the Bugsee JavaScript SDK (public beta, 0.1.0-beta.x).

Install this package directly in Vue 3 apps, together with the @bugsee/bugsee umbrella that provides launch().

Install

npm install @bugsee/bugsee @bugsee/vue
# or
pnpm add @bugsee/bugsee @bugsee/vue
# or
yarn add @bugsee/bugsee @bugsee/vue

Peer dependency: vue >= 3 (optional).

Usage

Launch Bugsee as early as possible, at the top of your entry module. In the browser launch() returns a Promise of the client. Await it only if you need the client right away.

// main.ts
import { launch } from "@bugsee/bugsee";
import { installBugseeErrorHandler } from "@bugsee/vue";
import { createApp } from "vue";
import App from "./App.vue";

launch("YOUR_APP_TOKEN");

const app = createApp(App);
installBugseeErrorHandler(app);
app.mount("#app");

installBugseeErrorHandler(app) hooks app.config.errorHandler so Vue errors are reported to the launched client.

Route naming (vue-router)

Name the active navigation after the matched route pattern instead of the concrete URL. Call once after createRouter(...):

import { instrumentVueRouter } from "@bugsee/vue";

instrumentVueRouter(router);

Component names in minified builds (optional)

Register the mixin so clicks and errors are attributed to the Vue component that rendered them, even after minification:

// main.ts
import { createBugseeVueComponentMixin } from "@bugsee/vue";

app.mixin(createBugseeVueComponentMixin());

Options

launch(appToken, options) accepts the SDK launch options. The most relevant ones in the browser:

  • captureLogs: capture console output (default true).
  • captureNetwork: capture network requests (default true).
  • maxRecordingTime: seconds of recording to keep (default 60).
  • replay: session replay settings, or false to turn replay off.
  • captureInteractions: capture user interactions (default true).

This package also re-exports everything from @bugsee/bugsee.

Nuxt users: use @bugsee/nuxt, which wires this adapter for you.
