Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Installer for the Expo Push Notifications guide skill across different AI agents

Readme

@build-launch/expo-push-skill

A CLI tool to install Skills that guides AI agents and developers to configure Expo Push Notifications (iOS/Android) with best practices.

AI agents are extremely powerful at writing code, but setting up mobile push notifications involves external consoles (Firebase, Expo dashboard).

This skill teaches your AI agent the correct, secure workflow for configuring push notifications in your project and also guide you through the setup process.

🚀 Quick Start

Run the installer via npx in the root of your Expo project:

npx @build-launch/expo-push-skill

⚙️ How It Works

When you run the command, it prompts you for:

  1. AI Agent / Development Tool: Choose your preferred agent (e.g., Antigravity, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline/Roo Code, or Custom Copilot instructions).
  2. Installation Scope:
    • Local: Install directly in your current project (e.g., .agents/skills/ or project-level rules).
    • Global: Install in your home directory config (e.g., ~/.gemini/config/ or ~/.clauderules) so it applies across all your projects.

The CLI then copies the optimized, step-by-step setup guide to the appropriate rules/skills folder.

🧭 Setup Guide Sequence

Once installed, your AI agent will guide you through the following setup steps in the correct order:

  1. Dependency Installation: Installing expo-notifications and expo-device.
  2. Expo Credentials & Firebase FCM V1 Key Link: Generating the service account key and linking it on the Expo dashboard.
  3. Firebase Project and Android App Registration: Registering the package name on the Firebase Console and downloading google-services.json.
  4. Configure EAS Environment Variables: Setting up the google-services.json file as a secret environment variable on Expo Dev.
  5. Convert Configuration: Safe conversion of app.json to a dynamic app.config.ts.
  6. Update Configuration: Referencing the Google services file dynamically using the secret environment variable.
  7. Update .gitignore: Appending credentials to .gitignore to prevent secret leakage.
  8. Testing/Verification: A step-by-step verification process using the Expo Notification Tool.
