Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Compliance evidence kit: tenant-scoped field crypto, a WORM audit chain, own-authored SOC2-TSC and HIPAA control packs, and a deterministic, signed control-to-evidence-pack generator.

Readme

@caisson-sh/compliance

The compliance evidence kit — the hero (ADR-0040). You seed a tenant, write encrypted SEC/HIPAA fields under a tenant-scoped crypto boundary, lock an append-only artifact into WORM storage with a SHA-256 audit-chain anchor, and emit a deterministic, signed control→evidence pack that validates against a golden fixture — and that REFUSES to generate when any control's evidence is missing (flag, never guess). A COMPOSITION of base packages, never a fork (ADR-0003).

Install

bun add @caisson-sh/compliance

Usage

import {
  soc2Tsc,
  generateEvidencePack,
  signEvidencePack,
  withTenantCrypto,
} from "@caisson-sh/compliance";

// controls + chainAnchor come from running the declarative evidence collectors against your tenant.
const pack = generateEvidencePack({
  tenantId,
  framework: soc2Tsc,
  chainAnchor,
  controls,
  now: new Date(),
});
const signature = await signEvidencePack(signer, pack.manifest);

// Tenant writes to encrypted fields run inside the crypto + RLS boundary together.
await withTenantCrypto(db, accountId, keyProvider, async (tx) => {
  /* ... */
});

Surface

  • Control model — defineControl / defineFramework typed builders + own-authored soc2Tsc / hipaaSecurity / euAiAct packs, all clean-room (no SCF ingest).
  • Evidence engine — declarative collectors (rlsForceCollector / chainVerifyCollector / wormRetentionCollector) → the typed canonical pack format → generateEvidencePack (deterministic, byte-stable, flag-never-guess) → signEvidencePack (per-tenant detached Ed25519) → an OSCAL export step you opt into separately.
  • Composition + assembly — withTenantCrypto (crypto nested inside the RLS scope, fail-closed) + assembleComplianceMigrations (ordered, checksum-ledgered cross-package migrations).
  • Operational telemetry — emitEvidenceGenerated / emitErasureCryptoShred through the base EventSink port; the evidentiary record stays in the WORM chain.

Dependencies

Down-only (ADR-0003): @caisson-sh/audit-worm + @caisson-sh/field-crypto + @caisson-sh/tenancy-rls + @caisson-sh/kernel. Evidence generation meters nothing — no @caisson-sh/credits. All three framework catalogs — SOC2-TSC, HIPAA-Security, and the EU AI Act high-risk set — are authored + golden-pinned.

Golden

src/__golden__/ pins the canonical evidence-pack body, the BLOCKED case, the framework catalogs, and the deterministic signature (ADR-0013); update only via BLESS=1 bun test.
