Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MDX parser with styles

Readme

@lpgroup/docs

MDX parser library that returns styled JSX

Contents

Prerequisites

Requires plugin to use MDX. Example in Vite setup, vite.config.js

import { defineConfig } from 'vite'
import reactRefresh from '@vitejs/plugin-react-refresh'
import mdx from "vite-plugin-mdx";

export default defineConfig({
  plugins: [
    reactRefresh(),
    mdx()
]
})

Install

# via yarn
yarn add @lpgroup/docs

# via npm
npm install --save @lpgroup/docs

API

ParseMDXToFullDocs

This will convert MDXs to documentation format, clickable sidebar in the left and styled jsx in the right.

import React from 'react'
import ParseMDXToFullDocs from '@lpgroup/docs';
import HelloWorld1 from "./fiel1.mdx";
import HelloWorld2 from "./file2.mdx";
import HelloWorld3 from "./file3.mdx";

const Pages = () =>{
    return(
    <>
        <HelloWorld1/>
        <HelloWorld2/>
        <HelloWorld3/>
    </>
    )
}

const logo =() => <div>MyLogo</div>

function App() {
  return (
    <div>
      <ParseMDXToFullDocs
      drawerWidth={240}
      logo={logo}
      logoClassName={{margin: "10px"}}
      >
        <Pages />
      </ParseMDXToFullDocs>
    </div>
  )
}

| property | type, default | description | | --------------- | ----------------- | ----------------------- | | drawerWidth | number, 240 | the width of the drawer | | logo | function, <></> | Logo | | logoClassName | object, {} | Style of the logo |

MDXFormat

This is similar to ParseMDXToFullDocs, but without the sidebar, also will receive a props that will modify its display.

import {MDXFormat, mdxComponents} from '@lpgroup/docs'
const defineComponents = {
    ...mdxComponents,
    h1: (props) => <div style={{backgroundColor: "yellow", fontSize: "30px"}} {...props}/>
  }
     <MDXFormat
      customRender={defineComponents}
      elementTags={["h1", "h2", "p"]}
      >
        <Pages />
      </MDXFormat>

| property | type, default | description | | -------------- | ---------------------- | ---------------------------------------- | | customRender | object, mdxComponent | customize the component render | | elementTags | array, ["all"] | will only show the elements in the array |

Possible element tags; "h1", "h2", "h3", "h4", "p", "li", "inlineCode", "code" "pre", "table", "all". The default is "all"

TagsArrayFilter

This will receive an array elementTags ["all"] and return a filtered mdx.

<MDXRootProvider>
    <TagsArrayFilter elementTags={["h2"]} >
        <Pages />
    </TagsArrayFilter>
</MDXRootProvider>

MDXRootProvider

Will allow the elements from mdx to be modified, all external styles are remove.

import {MDXRootProvider, mdxComponents} from '@lpgroup/docs'
const defineComponents = {
    ...mdxComponents,
    h1: (props) => <div style={{backgroundColor: "yellow", fontSize: "30px"}} {...props}/>
  }
<MDXRootProvider customRender={defineComponents}>
    <Pages/>
<MDXRootProvider>

default customRender is the mdxComponents

MDXProvider

import {MDXProvider} from '@lpgroup/docs'

See usage

mdxComponents

import {mdxComponents} from '@lpgroup/docs'
const components = {...mdxComponents, h1: ()=> }

This is default object that is used in the MDXRootProvider
