Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Agent Knowledge Kit (quiv/qv) — High-efficiency reusable architecture for AI coding agents.

Installation & Quickstart

# 1. From local source / repository:
bun run build
cd packages/cli && npm link

# 2. Or from npm registry (when published):
bun install -g @chamax/quiv
# Or npm:
npm install -g @chamax/quiv

10-Second Setup for AI Agents & Antigravity

quiv init --agents --antigravity

Installs:

  • Native Antigravity Skill (~/.gemini/config/skills/quiv/SKILL.md)
  • Global & Project Rules (AGENTS.md, .cursor/rules/quiv.mdc)
  • Global config fallback (~/.config/quiv/config.json)

Core Commands

1. quiv find "<query>"

Deep semantic & keyword search across all pattern tiers with relevancy scores:

quiv find "offline sync with conflict resolution"
qv find "apple pwa oled tokens"

2. quiv read <pattern> [--level overview|full|implementation]

Token-optimized progressive disclosure reading (<300t overview):

quiv read features/offline-sync --level overview

3. quiv use <pattern> [--dest <dir>] [--flat] [-P <project>]

Resolves recursive dependencies, scaffolds code into your workspace, and updates project registry:

# Standard scaffold into ./src (preserves relative dependency tree)
quiv use compositions/app-styles/apple-native-pwa --dest ./src

# Flat direct placement for isolated tokens or components
quiv use compositions/oled-glass-tokens --dest ./src/styles --flat

4. quiv learn (alias quiv extract)

Harvest and distill newly implemented components from your project into QUIV with Lore-lite metadata:

quiv learn \
  --from ./src/components/DynamicSheet.tsx \
  --tier compositions \
  --name dynamic-sheet \
-m "feat: gesture sheet with spring dismiss" \
-c "touch-action: none required for iOS Safari" \
-r "framer-motion layoutId due to mobile jank" \
  -e "60fps on iPhone 15 Pro"

5. quiv check [-P <project>]

Detects outdated pattern versions in active projects (auto-detects project name from package.json):

quiv check

6. quiv list [-t <tier>] [-f compact|table|json]

Catalog patterns across the 5 capability tiers (primitives, domain, features, compositions, templates).

Lore-Lite Commit Standard

Every pattern contributed to QUIV includes three trailers:

feat(offline-sync): add durable retry outbox

Constraint: must not block the UI thread during heavy sync bursts
Rejected: localStorage queue | 5MB quota was insufficient for attachments
Evidence: tested with 1,000 offline mutations, 100% synced on reconnect
