Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Versioned self-model and read-only introspection adapters for Qi

Readme

@civaapple/qi-introspection

Version 0.5.1. Package maturity: internal public-package preview.

This package gives Qi and contributors one versioned, machine-readable view of Qi's identity, package ownership, invariants, architecture decisions, maturity, release gaps, and verification commands.

Purpose

  • Validate and query QiSelfModel.
  • Produce bounded Context blocks with explicit provenance and an authority disclaimer.
  • Provide the read-only qi_introspect Tool definition.
  • Provide bounded, read-only projections for Qi to inspect Sessions in its current project.
  • Detect drift between the self model, workspace packages, package READMEs, and the consolidated decision record.

Non-goals

  • Self knowledge does not grant a Capability Lease.
  • The package cannot edit source, policy, credentials, Session history, or release metadata.
  • It cannot promote package maturity or certify semantic/product success.
  • It does not load every design document into every prompt.

Quick start

npm install @civaapple/qi-introspection
import {
  createQiSelfContext,
  qiSelfModel,
  queryQiSelfModel,
} from "@civaapple/qi-introspection";

console.log(qiSelfModel.release);
console.log(queryQiSelfModel("packages"));

const context = createQiSelfContext(["identity", "invariants", "gaps"]);

Register createQiIntrospectionTool() through an ordinary ToolRegistry. Execution still requires a matching read lease for qi:self-model:<section>.

inspectQiSession(source, query) lists project Sessions or narrows one Session to Runs, a selected/latest Run, problems, the last Step, or one Step/Action. Summary and detail projections retain IDs, event sequence bounds, status, error codes, and any durable edit freshness rebase while bounding text, results, and lists and reporting every omission. createQiSessionInspectionTool(source, currentSessionId) exposes the same semantics as qi_session_inspect. The CLI injects only its current project EventStore; callers cannot supply a database path or cross-project root.

Public API

  • QiSelfModelSchema and parseQiSelfModel()
  • qiSelfModel
  • queryQiSelfModel()
  • createQiSelfContext()
  • createQiIntrospectionTool()
  • inspectQiSession() and createQiSessionInspectionTool()
  • QiSessionInspectionQuery, QiSessionInspectionResult, and QiSessionInspectionSource

Change guidance

Update the self model when package ownership, architecture decisions, maturity, verification, or release blockers change. Canonical design and executable evidence remain the source of truth; conflicts are reported rather than hidden.

Verification

tests/introspection.test.mjs verifies schema parsing, package/README and decision coverage, bounded Context, read-only Tool identity, and denial without an explicit lease.
