Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

LLM skill for the ClassCAD headless CAD engine — structured API references with verified annotations that help AI agents generate correct ClassCAD code

@classcad/skill

An agent skill for the ClassCAD headless CAD engine — structured API references with verified annotations that help AI agents generate correct ClassCAD code.

Status: 0.0.x pre-release. Content is actively evolving; expect additions and corrections between versions.

What this is

ClassCAD is a headless, programmable parametric CAD engine driven entirely through a JSON/WebSocket API (254 methods across 7 domains: part, assembly, sketch, curve, solid, drawing2d, common). This package documents that API for LLM consumption:

  • SKILL.md — entry point: domain index, all 254 APIs with one-line summaries, cross-cutting guides
  • references/api/*.md — source API documentation per domain (signatures, parameter tables, return types)
  • references/<domain>/*.md — per-API LLM docs: gotchas, dead ends, common errors, working examples
  • references/SKETCHING.md / STRUCTURE.md / GRAPHICS.md — cross-cutting guides (constrained sketching workflow, structure tree, graphic protocol)

Every per-API doc is battle-tested: the documented behavior was observed by executing real API calls against a live ClassCAD server — including the failure modes, silent no-ops, and doc discrepancies that source documentation doesn't cover.

Usage

As a Claude Code / agent skill — drop the package into your skills directory:

npm install @classcad/skill
mkdir -p .claude/skills
ln -s ../../node_modules/@classcad/skill .claude/skills/classcad

SKILL.md carries Agent Skills frontmatter (name: classcad), so any skill-aware agent picks it up from there.

With classcad-mcp — the ClassCAD MCP server resolves this package automatically (via CLASSCAD_SKILL_PATH or a sibling classcad-skill checkout) and composes these docs into its describe_method tool.

As plain context — load SKILL.md as the index and pull references/ files on demand. The per-API docs are self-contained.
