Lugh

Portable, Figma-first design system for ClickHouse web properties — color/typography/spacing tokens and a small set of primitive component contracts, built to be consumed by more than one codebase (marketing-website today; Studio and other ClickHouse-family sites potentially later).

Why "Lugh"

Lugh Lámhfhada is the Irish god of light, skill, and craft — a fitting namesake for a system whose job is giving many different surfaces a shared, well-made visual language instead of each one improvising its own.

Why the dog

The mascot is an Irish wolfhound, which points back to the same mythology. Lugh's son is the hero Cú Chulainn — "Culann's Hound" — who Irish myth describes as an incarnation of Lugh himself. Separately, Lugh was gifted a hound named Failinis, demanded as éiric (a forfeit) from the King of Ioruaidhe, one of the great treasures of Irish legend.

What this repo is (and isn't)

• Is: the source of truth for the design system itself — tokens and primitive component contracts, written in plain CSS (not Tailwind) so any consumer, regardless of its own stack, can adopt it via a thin adapter layer.
• Isn't: any one consumer's integration of the system, a CMS/form-provider integration, or @clickhouse/click-ui (the separate console/product design system — Lugh is web/marketing-scoped).
