Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

CodePeel MCP Server — AI code review tools for Claude Code, Kiro, Cline, Roo, and other MCP-compatible agents

Readme

CodePeel MCP Server

Connect MCP-compatible coding assistants to CodePeel for code reviews, fix suggestions, code questions, and account usage checks.

Install

Create a token in CodePeel Settings → MCP Tokens. Keep the token private.

Add this server to your MCP client:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "codepeel": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@codepeelai/codepeel"],
      "env": { "CODEPEEL_TOKEN": "cpk_your_token_here" }
    }
  }
}

For Claude Code CLI:

# macOS / Linux (bash, zsh):
claude mcp add codepeel --env CODEPEEL_TOKEN=cpk_your_token_here -- npx -y @codepeelai/codepeel

# Windows (PowerShell):
claude mcp add codepeel --env CODEPEEL_TOKEN=cpk_your_token_here "--" npx -y @codepeelai/codepeel

Client Configurations

Cursor AI

Add to .cursor/mcp.json (workspace) or Cursor Settings → MCP:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "codepeel": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@codepeelai/codepeel"],
      "env": { "CODEPEEL_TOKEN": "cpk_your_token_here" }
    }
  }
}

Claude Desktop

Add to claude_desktop_config.json:

  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "codepeel": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@codepeelai/codepeel"],
      "env": { "CODEPEEL_TOKEN": "cpk_your_token_here" }
    }
  }
}

Windsurf / Cascade

Add to ~/.windsurf/mcp.json (macOS/Linux) or %USERPROFILE%\.codeium\windsurf\mcp_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "codepeel": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@codepeelai/codepeel"],
      "env": { "CODEPEEL_TOKEN": "cpk_your_token_here" }
    }
  }
}

Restart or reload the client after saving. Works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, Roo Code, Windsurf, Zed, Continue.dev, OpenCode, LibreChat, and any MCP-compliant client.

Tools

review_code

Reviews a unified git diff for bugs, security issues, and code-quality problems.

  • diff (string, required): the diff to review (at least 10 characters).
  • repo (string, optional): repository name or identifier.

fix_code

Generates a suggested fix for a finding.

  • file (string, required): file containing the issue.
  • issue (string, required): description of the issue.
  • problemCode (string, optional): relevant code snippet.
  • line (number, optional): line number.
  • severity (string, optional): critical, high, medium, or low.

ask_codepeel

Ask a code or architecture question.

  • question (string, required).
  • diff (string, optional): code context for the question.

check_credits

Checks the current account balance and plan information. It does not consume a review.

Review history tools

These read saved CodePeel PR reviews and do not consume review credits. Start with list_workspaces to get a workspace ID. Team owners and admins can read that team's reviews; seated members can read their own. Pending or removed members cannot read team data.

| Tool | Use | | --- | --- | | list_workspaces | List your personal workspace and accessible teams, including your role. | | list_team_members | List active seated members of a team. Requires a team:<installationId> workspace ID. | | search_reviews | Search reviews by workspace, member, repository, PR number, date, status, or overall severity. Results are paginated; pass nextCursor as cursor for the next page. | | get_review | Fetch a review's full findings. Pass reviewId and, for team reviews, the memberId returned by search_reviews. | | search_findings | Find reported findings by severity, type, or file across reviews. Uses the same workspace and review filters. | | get_review_analytics | Group review runs, unique PRs, findings, and failures by member or repo for a period of up to 90 days. |

workspaceId defaults to personal except for list_team_members. Search tools accept limit from 1 to 50 and ISO from/to dates. A result with scanLimitReached: true or analytics with complete: false needs a narrower date range. Review status describes CodePeel processing, not the current GitHub PR state; a reported finding may already have been fixed.

Prompts

The server also provides review-staged-changes, security-audit, and explain-and-fix prompts for common workflows.

Requirements

  • Node.js 18 or newer
  • A CodePeel account
  • A CodePeel API token in the CODEPEEL_TOKEN environment variable

Help

If the server does not appear in your client, verify Node.js is installed, the token starts with cpk_, and the client was restarted after editing its MCP configuration.
