Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@codex-z/cli-darwin-arm64

Run Pi and Claude Code as first-class external harnesses inside Codex Desktop.

Internal platform package for @codex-z/cli, built for macos-arm64.

Install

npm install -g @codex-z/[email protected]

Do not install this package directly. npm selects it through the optional dependencies of @codex-z/cli.

This package is platform-specific (os=darwin, cpu=arm64).

Usage

codex-z
codex-z --version
codex-z inspect
codex-z launch
codex-z remote install
codex-z remote start
codex-z remote stop
codex-z remote status
codex-z remote uninstall
codex-z broker status

The codex-z command launches the packaged Rust launcher with:

  • the current Node.js executable as Host Runtime
  • packaged host-runtime, Desktop Controller, Renderer, and Shim binaries

Requirements

  • Node.js 22 or 24 (Node 20 and older are not supported)
  • Official ChatGPT/Codex Desktop for macOS, Windows, or Linux
  • Pi on PATH when using the Pi agent
  • Claude Code installed when using the Claude Code adapter

Notes

  • This npm package does not embed a private Node.js runtime.
  • On macOS, remote install manages the current-user Aqua Harness broker; it never asks for a Keychain password or copies Claude credentials.
  • Installer packages (DMG/EXE) remain the zero-dependency desktop distribution path.
  • Prefer npm install -g @codex-z/cli over installing the monorepo root.
