Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Create RN Starter

A CLI tool to quickly create React Native projects with a modern stack:

  • 📱 Expo Router - File-based routing
  • 🎨 Tailwind CSS - Utility-first styling with NativeWind
  • 🔄 Convex - Real-time backend
  • 🔐 Authentication - Built-in auth system
  • 📊 State Management - Zustand + TanStack Query
  • 🌍 Internationalization - i18next
  • 🧪 Testing - Jest + Testing Library
  • 📱 Multi-platform - iOS, Android, Web

Usage

npx @compiledideas/start

The CLI will prompt you for:

  • Project name
  • Display name
  • Bundle ID
  • Expo username
  • URL scheme

After Creation

  1. Install dependencies: pnpm install
  2. Set up Convex: npx convex dev
  3. Update environment variables in .env.* files
  4. Start development: pnpm start
