Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

An MCP server that lets an AI coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, …) set up the Nora Relay in-app bug reporter for you. "Add Nora Relay to this project" becomes: create the project, generate the embed, and place it in the right file — in the site's own colour and corner.

Configure

Add the server to your MCP client and give it your workspace credentials:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nora-relay": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@conscience-technology/nora-relay-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "NORA_RELAY_ORG": "your-workspace",
        "NORA_RELAY_KEY": "nrk_live_…"
      }
    }
  }
}
  • NORA_RELAY_ORG — your workspace slug
  • NORA_RELAY_KEY — an org API key (nrk_…), from the Relay console → Settings → API keys
  • NORA_RELAY_API — optional, defaults to https://api.relay.nora.my

For Claude Code:

claude mcp add nora-relay -e NORA_RELAY_ORG=your-workspace -e NORA_RELAY_KEY=nrk_live_… \
  -- npx -y @conscience-technology/nora-relay-mcp

Tools

| Tool | What it does | |---|---| | relay_list_projects | List the projects (client sites) in your workspace | | relay_create_project | Create a project — name, mainUrl, optional repoRef | | relay_widget_snippet | Generate the embed snippet for a project key | | relay_install_widget | Detect the framework and place the widget in this project |

relay_widget_snippet and relay_install_widget take the same look & placement options as the CLI: accent, position (bottom-right · bottom-left · top-right · top-left), offsetX, offsetY, lang.

Example

You: Add Nora Relay to this site, blue button in the bottom-left.

Agent: calls relay_create_projectrelay_install_widget with accent: "#0075de", position: "bottom-left" → widget added to app/layout.tsx.

Prefer a command line?

@conscience-technology/nora-relay is the same capability as a CLI: npx @conscience-technology/nora-relay init.
