Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server for registering EduTAP courses and uploading course materials

Readme

EduTAP MCP server

@coxwave/tap-mcp is an MCP server that lets an AI assistant register EduTAP courses and upload course materials for you.

Requirements

  • Node.js 22 or later
  • An EduTAP API key (TAP-API-KEY) issued to your organization

Setup

Run the command for your AI tool in a terminal. Replace <API_KEY> with your EduTAP API key.

# Claude Code
claude mcp add edutap -e TAP_API_KEY=<API_KEY> -- npx -y @coxwave/tap-mcp
# Codex
codex mcp add edutap --env TAP_API_KEY=<API_KEY> -- npx -y @coxwave/tap-mcp
# Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add -e TAP_API_KEY=<API_KEY> edutap npx -y @coxwave/tap-mcp

For tools such as Claude Desktop and Cursor, add the following to the MCP configuration file.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "edutap": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@coxwave/tap-mcp"],
      "env": { "TAP_API_KEY": "<API_KEY>" }
    }
  }
}

Tools

| Tool | Description | | --- | --- | | edutap_build_course_info | Builds course information from curriculum rows, or checks an existing course information JSON. | | edutap_register_course_info | Registers courses, sections, and clips. Courses that already exist are not overwritten. | | edutap_upload_course_materials | Uploads local files to registered clips and starts preprocessing. | | edutap_get_course_status | Summarizes the processing status of a registered course. | | edutap_list_courses | Finds registered courses by course ID or title. |

Security

  • Keep your API key in the client configuration. Do not paste it into a conversation.
  • Keep approval prompts on for edutap_register_course_info and edutap_upload_course_materials instead of allowing them always.
  • The upload tool can read any supported file on your computer that you or the assistant point it to. Review the file list before approving an upload.
