Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Paseo workspace panel for GitHub stacked PRs: see the gh stack your branch belongs to and switch the workspace between its branches.

Readme

paseo-gh-stack

A Paseo plugin for GitHub stacked PRs. It shows the gh stack the workspace's branch belongs to and switches the workspace between the branches in it.

The Stack panel next to an agent, listing three stacked branches with their PR numbers above the trunk

Features

  • Stack panel: a workspace tab (also available in the Explorer) listing the stack from top to trunk. Each branch shows its PR number, and whether it is merged, queued, or needs a rebase. Tap a branch to check it out in the workspace.
  • Stacks on GitHub: when the branch isn't tracked by gh stack locally, the panel looks up its pull request in GitHub's stacks and offers a Check out stack button that runs gh stack checkout <number>.
  • Command Center (⌘K / Ctrl+K):
    • Open stack
    • Stack: check out branch above
    • Stack: check out branch below

The panel refreshes every 15 seconds, so branch changes made from a terminal or by an agent show up on their own.

Requirements

On the daemon host:

  • The GitHub CLI (gh)
  • The gh-stack extension: gh extension install github/gh-stack

Install

Requires Paseo 0.10.3 or later.

paseo plugin install npm:@cprecioso/paseo-gh-stack

Or from GitHub:

paseo plugin install github:cprecioso/paseo-gh-stack

Then open the panel from a workspace's new-tab menu, or run Open stack from the Command Center.

Limitations

  • Switching runs git switch <branch> in the workspace directory. Git refuses when uncommitted changes would be overwritten, or when the branch is already checked out in another worktree; the error is shown as a toast.
  • Switching branches changes the files under any agent running in the workspace. The panel warns you when an agent is running.
  • Stacks found on GitHub are only detected when the current branch has a pull request and the stack still has unmerged PRs.
  • Checking out a GitHub stack fails without prompting when it conflicts with a local stack; resolve it with gh stack checkout in a terminal.
