Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.2.0

Published

Portable Huế-inspired semantic design tokens for web and application themes.

Readme

@crafts69guy/hue-theme-tokens

The core of the Hue Theme system: source design tokens plus the build that resolves and validates them into portable artifacts.

Layers

  1. Primitive — authored colors with cultural metadata, per mood, in src/themes/{mua,huong,cung}.json (DTCG format).
  2. Semantic — stable roles (surface.canvas, status.notice, syntax.keyword, …) declared once in src/contract.ts, with a closed/open flag per family.
  3. Adapters — map semantic roles onto a host API without mutating source data (see src/adapters/).

Build

bun run build # resolve tokens, validate against the contract, write generated/
bun run check # build --check (no writes) + tsc --noEmit

bun run build validates every mood against the contract and WCAG AA contrast, then writes generated/themes.{json,ts,css} and every adapter's output: the Yaak plugin (packages/yaak-plugin), the Neovim/LazyVim plugin (packages/nvim-plugin), the tmux TPM plugin (packages/tmux-plugin), the Ghostty, bat, lazygit, and delta theme files (packages/terminal-themes), the Fish/Tide theme files (packages/fish-themes), the herdr and tuicr fragments (packages/herdr-plugin), and the unified Inkdrop v6 packages (packages/hue-*-theme), plus ChatGPT/Codex share strings (packages/codex-themes). Generated artifacts must not be edited by hand.

The root bun run ci starts with biome ci .; run bun run format from the repo root after rebuilding generated artifacts so formatter and import-order drift does not block CI before tests run.

Exports

  • . → compiled generated/themes.js with themes.d.ts declarations (themeBundle, getTheme, SemanticToken and per-family token unions such as STATUS_TOKENS / StatusToken).
  • ./themes.css, ./themes.json → the generated CSS variables and flat data.
